By Shannon Delany. Meet Jessie Gillmansen as she realizes that things might not be what they seem in the town of Junction. All Jessie wants is to avoid more change … but she has no idea what's about to come her way.
A leaf whisked by, skittering along the sidewalk by my feet before it chattered and took flight, red against a graying sky. Fall had arrived too soon in Junction. I zipped my jacket up against the prodding of the occasional breeze.
Amy laughed. Just a jog, Jessie. A jog should be no trouble, Sarah said as she joined us. A jog should be no trouble, Amy repeated, slicing each word away from the others so they hung in the air alone.
Amy hated Sarah. Hated her. And firmly believed I should too. I shrugged. Maybe Amy could learn some compassion when it came to her. Or even just tolerance. I fought to keep my nerves from pulling my lips into an unnatural grin. And failed. Amy shook her head and tugged her flashing copper hair into an impromptu ponytail. Start your free 30 days. Page 1 of 1. VERY short, though it does include a preview of 13 to life, myself I don't like to read those, I want to wait until I have the actual book, because I'm not a big re-reader. In this case however I think you would have to read the preview to get any real feel for the story, since the prequel itself is so short. This prequel to 13 Years to Life was about 12 pages long. I have to wonder if it was originally chapter one before edits.
It had that feel. A short introduction to Jessie and her friends. We also get a brief glimpse into the strangeness to come. Actually, I think it works better as a first chapter then the actual first chapter of 13 Years to Life, which I didn't much care for. A free ebook download worth the 10 minutes or so it would take to read, if you are a fan of the series. If you haven't read 13 Years to Life, this prequel won't really do much for you.
This is a prequel to a book it look good will keep it in mind when buying books next time. The first is bout a girl who likes a guy..
