For example, the generic and enhanced interface options are available. Routing rules can be defined by package, user group, or user role. You can also configure the number of client connections to balance your server load. In PowerPlay Enterprise Server, you organize and administer groups of cubes and reports by using folders and collections. Folders and collections allow you to change the settings of all the descendant objects from a single dialog box. You can override the settings inherited from a parent object.

Hi guys I am relative new to Cognos 10 months and i am know exploring the security possibilities. ALthough Framework manager provides enough security options Data Security,Pacjage Security and package security i cant seem to find enough possibilities in Transformer models. To explain myself: I will be successfull in implementing our security model in FM packages.

But i want to implement the same model in Transformer. Country is a filed in my main fact table. Can i add somewhere like data security in Transformer this requirement? Sorry if this is a childish question Some more manual reading i suppose. Hi, Yes, you can do this. See the Transformer user guide, chapter 7. There is a section on combining custom views with dimension views.

YEap i just saw it.. But why to use the combination. For example Yes you can Steps: 1. Open a model in Transformer and, from the Security menu, click Log On.

In the Logon dialog box, select the appropriate namespace from the drop-down list, and log on as an authenticated user. Open the Categories diagram for your model and click the Custom Views tab. In the Custom view name box, type a name for the custom view. If you are not logged on to the namespace from which you want to assign members, click Log On, select the namespace from the drop-down list, and then log on as an authenticated user for that namespace.

Tip: To select individual users in the list, click the Show users in the list check box. The new custom view appears in the custom view list, the model dimensions appear in the Dimensions list, and the measures appear in the Measures list. To omit the dimension from the custom view, select the dimension and then click the Omit button.

Tip: To reset a dimension to the parent or default view, select the dimension and then click the Reset button. To exclude a measure from the custom view, in the Measures list, clear the check box for that measure.

In the Custom Views list, select the new custom view. In the Dimensions list, select a dimension. When you are finished applying view operations to the custom view, close the Categories diagram and then, from the Custom Views list, drag the custom view that you want to associate to the cube to the appropriate cube or cube group in the PowerCubes list.
